Charities and Charitable giving are important to us here at Molly’s Mobile Mall. We love to share deals with you that can enhance your life. But just as importantly, we also love sharing opportunities for those who can give to give to deserving charities.
There are many charities deserving of our support. And if you have a favorite, go-to charity that you regularly support, THANK YOU for giving back! The world could use more people like you. So, keep up the great work!
While many charities are worthy, sometimes we run across charities whose stories and purposes really touch our hearts. As those situations arise, we will highlight them, here, on this page.
Charities – Highlighted Charity: Today’s Promises
Today’s Promises is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable foundation… Incorporated in the USA in the state of TN. It was founded by a humanitarian team after the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. Initially, they established an orphanage for children… Who were in a variety of distressed situations after the big quake. Today, their goal of raising happy, healthy, well-adjusted children… All of whom have the knowledge and skills to reintegrate into their local society as productive, responsible, self-sufficient adults… Is actively achieved every day.
Partnering with established local Haitian resources, this group established Today’s Promises Academy. It is a safe and secure environment that provides a cafeteria, auditorium, and children’s dormitory… Along with educational and recreational areas. Additionally, it houses a medical facility… And areas for the children to grow vegetables and raise chickens as a sustainable source of fresh food. There’s a live-in house mother, a dedicated cook, and cleaning and security staff. And, then there are counselors and educators who support the Young Entrepreneur Program. This program teaches children essential life and vocational skills.
Still Helping
But even with all this success, the Today’s Promises team still works to improve lives… Identifying and helping children in need. On a recent trip to the Caribbean, founder Rick Langley met a boy with a rare condition. “A” has a condition that causes excessive overgrowth of the gums. As a result, he is unable to talk or chew. Therefore, he eats only oatmeal… Which he swallows without chewing… And Cheetos, which dissolve in his mouth.
Today’s Promises worked with a medical facility in Florida to perform the reconstructive surgery there… And, as of today, all medical expenses are covered. So now, they are actively raising additional money to cover transportation and housing expenses… for “A” and his mother to travel to Florida for the reconstructive surgery… And remain there for the required rehabilitation.
