Wine and Accessories: Must Haves

Wine and Accessories for Wine are quintessential gifts worldwide. Whether you are an experienced wine lover… Or just stepping into the world of wine… Or know someone who is… This post will be worth reading.

Wines have been around for thousands of years, and will be around for thousands more. They’re a key part of celebrations, romantic dinners or getaways, and everyday life for a reason. There’s something magic about wine. The right pairing enhances the flavor of food and the foods enhance the flavor of the wine. Wine is both relaxing and celebratory. It can make any meal or occasion a memorable event. There’s truly no bad time for a good wine.

But wine alone is not enough. To enjoy your wine, you first need to open the bottle. That’s where the right Wine Accessories come in.

Wine and Accessories – Let’s talk a bit about Wine Accessories

The right wine accessories are almost as important as the wine itself. After all, it’s hard to enjoy the perfect bottle of wine if the cork somehow managed to break off inside the bottle. Then you have to find a way to pull the remaining cork from the bottle… And that always proves to be not only a challenge, but also messy. Personally, I’ve never been able to cleanly pull out a broken cork… I always manage to leave tiny pieces of cork floating in the wine. That definitely makes for a less-than-relaxing experience.

And, then, there’s the challenge with keeping any left-over wine as tasty as it was on Day One. I absolutely love the perfect wine paired with the perfect food. But, as a a single mom, I simply can’t finish a bottle of wine in one meal, even if I have a friend over to help. And who wants to waste half a bottle of fine wine? So, I’ve spent a lot of time and money buying and trying various wine stoppers, vacuums, aerators, etc. I can tell you from LOTS of experience that the range of wine accessories available is pretty vast. You can find accessories in all price ranges, all qualities, and varying levels of ease of use. And, guess what? The most expensive tools aren’t necessarily the best nor the easiest to use.

Recently, I’ve discovered a line of Wine Accessories that are top quality, affordable and easy to use. This new company is definitely one to watch in the wide world of wine accessories. Here are a few of the items I’ve tried and absolutely love: (or skip to the site to see them all here, now.)

Wine Bottle Opener

Wine and Accessories - Wine Bottle Openers

So why didn’t I just call this section ‘Corkscrews’? Because there are more options than just the traditional cork screw. Everyone has seen the manual T-shaped corkscrew and/or rabbit-eared corkscrews. It can be a challenge to master the art of using a manual corkscrew. Now, there are time-saving and manual-energy-saving electric corkscrews. This site has both battery-operated and rechargeable options. And, if you prefer to open your wine without a corkscrew, there are air pump options that force air into the bottle and pop the cork right out. I like this option, because, I like to save my corks. I make trivets, corkboards and other items from them.

This site also offers gift sets that include foil cutters and even a magnetic beer bottle opener, if you or your guests prefer a beer. I used to think a foil cutter was a bit frivolous and pretentious. But after using one, I really appreciate how easily and (most importantly) cleanly this tool cuts and makes removing the foil quick and easy. See the openers and gift sets, here!

Wine Aerators

OK, time to fess up! How many of us understand the value of aerating wine? I’ll admit that the idea of decanting and letting the wine aerate for 45 minutes or more before drinking was a difficult one for me to accept. As a society, we’re all so accustomed to instant gratification that the idea of waiting nearly an hour after opening to actually drink the wine seems almost ridiculous. However, I’ve discovered, as many smarter than I discovered much sooner, that aerating red wine makes SO MUCH DIFFERENCE in the taste. There’s a science behind it to be sure, but the bottom line is the flavor of a fine red wine is greatly enhanced with aeration.

Automatic Aerators/Dispensers

Still, remembering to open and decant the wine so long before I would consume it proved to be a challenge for me. First, I often forget to open the wine until I’m ready to drink it. Second, even when I remember to open the wine early, I’m faced with the problem of how much to decant (pour into a decanter for aeration purposes). I mean, how much wine will I drink tonight? Typically, it’s one glass with dinner. But what if tonight is a two-glass night and I haven’t decanted enough? Well, at least then I can taste the difference between the first (aerated) glass of wine and the second (non-aerated) glass.

And what if I decant too much or just ‘make it easy’ and decant the entire bottle? Well, then I have to find a way to properly store the remaining wine. That’s a bigger challenge in a decanter than in a wine bottle. Pour it back into the bottle? Tried that, too. Not many things are as disappointing as spilling a fine wine. Definitely not the best option.

Luckily, I discovered instant aerators/pourers. This company offers a few different affordable options. My favorite are the Automatic Wine Aerator Dispensers. This tool is sheer genius! It automatically aerates the wine as it’s dispensed. Now, I can enjoy the best taste the wine has to offer without the 45-minute wait! Perfect for modern-day lives! Taste the difference aeration makes with these aeration options!

Wine Bottle Stoppers

Electric Wine Vacuum Pump

I’ve heard the jokes about what to do with ‘leftover’ wine. If you haven’t heard, for “real women” there’s no such thing as ‘leftover wine.’ Funny, and at times I wish it were true. I do love my wine. But I also love being a mom. And as a single mom with two very active teenagers, I need my brain functioning at peak capacity to keep up with them. A glass of wine, or even two, is definitely an end-of-day relaxation that I really appreciate. But, even with the help of a friend, a whole bottle isn’t a feasible option for me. So, wine stoppers are a must have.

There are many options available on the marketplace, ranging from simple corks for a few dollars each to $300 vacuum systems that require periodic refills of argon gas, which makes these systems even more expensive to use regularly. The company I’ve found has several excellent options that I find to be in the affordable range. From simple stoppers with manual vacuum pumps to a stopper-pourer-aerator combination to (my favorite) Cordless Electric Wine Vacuum Pump, you can find the right wine bottle stopper for you, at a very reasonable price, right here.

More Than Muse Caberenet Sauvingon

As for the Wine itself, fine wine delivered directly to your doorstep is where it’s at! The convenience of fine wines delivered to you is only topped by the quality of the wine we’ve found through this amazing wine club. You get the finest wines, made in small batches by expert winemakers in Napa and Sonoma Valleys… naturally aged to perfection, without the added nitrates that mass-producers of wine use to speed the ageing process. And all at a price far below similar quality wines from any retail establishment. Seriously, as a wine lover, I was extremely and pleasantly surprised by the quality of wine I got for the price.

I look forward to every monthly shipment. Traditionally, I’ve enjoyed mostly red wines, and started with the red-only option for my shipments. But the reds were so amazing that I decided to change my shipments to reds and whites, and I have to tell you, I’ve been nothing less than very impressed. The white wines are the best I’ve ever tried, and I can now honestly say that I thoroughly enjoy both reds and whites… when they’re of the finest quality, of course.

So, don’t miss your opportunity to try these amazingly fine wines at incredible pricing. There’s no obligation, so you can change or cancel any time. But, trust us, if you’re a wine lover, too, you’ll be as impressed as we were. Go here to join for a month or a lifetime of fine wines shipped right to your door.
